OUR HOPE STORY
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
New Found Hope Community Church was founded by Rev. Ray Anthony Ruffin Jr. in October 2017. Our first worship services were held in a conference room at Great Lakes Ace in Farmington Hills, Michigan, where Pastor Ruffin was employed at the time. For our first year, a faithful core group of seasoned believers and new followers of Christ gathered together to worship, grow, and pursue God's calling for the ministry.
Prior to the church's launch, God gave Pastor Ruffin a vision to plant a church in the Redford community. While waiting for the right opportunity to establish a permanent presence there, the Lord opened an unexpected door through a partnership with Pastor Maddox and Forest Park Baptist Church. Located next door to Great Lakes Ace, Forest Park graciously welcomed New Found Hope to share their facility. In August 2018, we were blessed to begin holding both worship services and Bible studies in the same location.
As the church continued to grow, members gathered regularly for prayer, fellowship, and encouragement through small group meetings. God remained faithful to His promise, and in July 2019, New Found Hope Community Church relocated to the very community He had placed on Pastor Ruffin's heart.
On July 7, 2019, we began meeting at John Pierce Middle School in the heart of Redford, Michigan.
Since our founding, we have remained committed to our mission of "Knowing Jesus and Making Him Known." Through God's grace, lives have been transformed, people have come to faith in Christ, and many have publicly declared their faith through baptism. We give all glory and honor to God for His faithfulness and provision. As we continue to serve our community and advance His Kingdom, we look forward with great expectation to all that He has in store for New Found Hope Community Church.
